Approach

I work with children, adolescents, and adults who are seeking therapy for stress, anxiety, depression, relationship difficulties, life changes/transitions, and school difficulties. I specialize in supporting individuals who are experiencing challenges related to recent life changes, academic/work/professional stress, relationship stress, self-esteem, and symptoms of the mental health concerns listed above that impact a person’s daily life.

My approach is person-centered and strengths-based. I believe therapy is most effective when it’s tailored to each individual’s unique goals, values, needs, and strengths. I offer a validating, non-judgmental, authentic, collaborative, and supportive place for people to navigate challenges they’re experiencing. I aim to offer a place for people to be open and honest and feel heard, accepted, valued, and respected.

I work with people to identify barriers and challenges and collaboratively create a plan for getting “unstuck” and moving toward their values and goals. Some examples of what we might work on in therapy include processing thoughts and feelings, gaining new insights, building on their strengths (increasing internal resources), identifying new supports (increasing external resources), learning and practicing new skills, and reflecting on change over time. I use CBT, DBT, ACT, mindfulness-based, and/or motivational interviewing approaches in therapy as needed.
